CELEBRITY CRUISES ANNOUNCES EUROPE 2022 DEPLOYMENT

Celebrity Cruises has announced its deployment for Europe 2022, including Celebrity Apex, Edge, and the newly “revolutionized” Celebrity Silhouette sailing in the region.

Together, the six ships will visit nearly 100 destinations and offer an expanded overnight program in cities including Bordeaux, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Lisbon, Reykjavik, St Petersburg, Russia, and Venice.

Wi-Fi, drinks, and tips are now “Always Included” in a Celebrity cruise purchase. In addition, the line’s “Cruise with Confidence” program provides flexible cancellations and “best price guarantees”.

Apex, the second ship in Celebrity’s new Edge series, will sail Scandinavia and Russia and the Norwegian Fjords from the new homeport of Amsterdam. It will also offer Iceland, Ireland, and British Isles itineraries, ending the season with special Holy Land sailings roundtrip from Rome.

Edge meanwhile will sail from Rome and Barcelona on 7-night Mediterranean itineraries to culturally rich and romantic destinations in Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, and the Greek Islands.

It will end the season with some longer itineraries from Rome before returning to its homeport in Fort Lauderdale for the winter.

Silhouette will sail from Southampton, beginning in April 2022, to transport guests to a wide variety of popular European destinations from the Norwegian Fjords to Spain, Portugal, and the Italian Mediterranean. It will finish its Europe season in the Canary Islands in September and October.

Other Celebrity summer 2022 European offerings include:

– Celebrity Constellation sailing an array of 9- and 10-night Mediterranean itineraries between Venice, Rome, and Barcelona.

– Celebrity Infinity discovering the best of the Mediterranean on a special series of 7-night sailings between Venice, Lisbon, and Barcelona beginning in April 2022.

– And Celebrity Reflection treating guests to 10- and 11-night itineraries exploring Italy, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, and the Greek Islands from its new homeport of Rome.

The launch is supported by toolkits and guides on Celebrity Central and trade webinars hosted by sales and training teams so travel partners can become experts in all things Celebrity Cruises in Europe 2022.

New Celebrity Apex Makes Technical Call At Ponta Delgada

The new Celebrity Apex has made a technical stop in Ponta Delgada (Azores).

The ship was delivered to Celebrity by Chantiers de l’Atlantique earlier this year, but its inaugural season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ship has since stayed in Europe but is now said to be heading toward North America.

Reshma Saujani, founder and CEO of international nonprofit Girls Who Code and author of the international bestseller, “Brave, Not Perfect,” was previously named Godmother for the Celebrity Apex, which is the second Edge-class ship for the Royal Caribbean-owned brand.

The plan this winter was for the ship to sail from Port Everglades offering week-long Caribbean sailings head of a 2021 summer season in Europe.

Of note, the ship also has a number of new culinary experiences onboard. The Craft Social Bar will introduce a relaxed, casual bar space and will offer draft cocktails, wines on tap and more than 50 of the world’s rarest craft beers served by a certified beer sommelier, the company said, in a prior press release.

There is also a new 3-D digital animation dining experience at Le Grand Bistro – Celebrity Edge’s first-at-sea digitally animated menu by Le Petit Chef will offer a new animated story on the Celebrity Apex, enhanced by new menu creations from Chef Cornelius Gallagher.

Celebrity Cruises launches Virtual Pride at Sea

GayTravel LGBTQ Guide to Cruises & Cruise Life with Royal Caribbean

Celebrity Cruises is rolling out new online tools and initiatives for trade partners to celebrate Pride.

The cruise line’s Virtual Pride at Sea includes enhancements to its agent hub Celebrity Central, including more LGBTQ+ brand and marketing resources such as flyers, images and video assets.

A range of LGBTQ+ friendly itinerary recommendations for 2021 has been prepared in a social media-ready format.

A dedicated diversity and inclusion training course is also available on Celebrity Passport to refresh agents on the diversity of Celebrity’s guests and crew.

The virtual events have been launched in the week that would’ve seen Celebrity Cruises host its fourth annual Pride at Sea party across its entire fleet, with the flagship party onboard new vessel Celebrity Apex.

A video capturing throwback moments from previous celebrations on land and at sea, including on Celebrity Edge last year, has also been produced.
