Norwegian Sky arrives into the Historic Port of Liverpool, on a misty morning. Sky is on her farewell tour before she leaves the fleet in 2027.

The Norwegian Sky is a 77,104-ton Sun-class cruise ship operated by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). Launched in 1999, she is a more intimate ship compared to modern mega-ships, carrying just under 2,000 guests.

The Norwegian Sky is designed for a laid-back, traditional cruising experience. Despite its age, it underwent comprehensive refurbishments to keep up with modern amenities, including the addition of high-speed Starlink internet.

Onboard Dining

NCL’s signature “Freestyle Cruising” means there are no assigned seating times or rigid schedules, letting you dine whenever and wherever you choose. The ship features a mix of complimentary and specialty dining options:

Complimentary Venues: The Palace and Crossings (Main Dining Rooms), the Garden Cafe (Buffet), and The Local Bar & Grill (casual pub fare).
Specialty Venues: Le Bistro (French), La Cucina (Italian), and Cagney’s Steakhouse.

Bars, Entertainment & Activities

With numerous bars and lounges, there are plenty of spots to unwind or keep the party going.

Nightlife: Champs Bar, Sugarcane Mojito Bar, and the Maltings Beer & Whiskey Bar. The Bliss Lounge serves as a venue for trivia and games during the day, transforming into a lively nightclub late at night.
Relaxation: The ship boasts an award-winning Mandara Spa and Thermal Suite, as well as a central pool deck featuring jacuzzis and a stage for live music.

SHC Renews Contract with Liverpool City Council

SCH announced an extension to its contract with Liverpool City Council to support all cruise ships calling at Liverpool Cruise Terminal (LCT), according to a press release.

The cruise ship services provider has supported LCT for almost ten years. The company provides personnel for all stevedoring, including baggage handling, store loading and rope handling services. Meanwhile, the sister company Cruise and Passenger Services (CPS) provides parking services for travellers.

SCH Liverpool General Manager Karen Grogan said: “We have partnered with LCT for nearly ten years and have helped the city to become a leading destination for cruise ships calling in the UK. We are delighted that Liverpool City Council has chosen to extend this relationship and look forward to continuing to deliver a first-class service.”

LCT expects a total of 115 cruise calls this year with nearly 40 turnarounds, including Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Ambassador Line and Noble Caledonia. Additionally, LCT supports regular operational calls from working ships, Royal and Foreign Navy visits and supporting maritime aspects of city events.
