MSC Cruises To Sponsor Two 2024 Formula 1 Races

MSC Cruises announced that it will be the title sponsor of two races in the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix series; the Japanese Grand Prix and the Gran Premio dell’Emilia Romagna held at Imola, according to a press release.

In 2024, the cruise line’s brand will be included in the title names of both Formula 1 Grand Prix, as well as the race circuit branding as part of MSC Cruises’ global sponsorship of Formula 1 through 2026.

The fourth race of the season, the “MSC Cruises Japanese Grand Prix” will take place between April 5-7, 2024 at the Suzuka track in Japan.

 The “Formula 1 MSC Cruises Gran Premio dell’Emilia Romagna 2024” will take place between May 17 and 19, 2024 at the Imola circuit in Imola.

 MSC Cruises became a global partner of Formula 1 in 2022 when the cruise line entered into a collaboration to the end of the 2026 World Championship.

MSC Cruises Announces Extension to Formula 1 Deal

MSC Cruises announced the extension of its global partnership deal with Formula 1 to become its Official Cruise Partner through the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, according to a press release.

As part of the partnership, MSC Cruises will offer a unique hospitality experience onboard its ships on selected Grand Prix weekends.

The extended program will start when the MSC Virtuosa arrives in Abu Dhabi for the final round of the 2023 Formula 1 season and will offer accommodation, hospitality and transportation packages for fans and VIP guests.

More ships will join the program during the 2024 season and beyond. MSC Cruises will also be the title sponsor of the 2023 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix with more title sponsorships to be announced at the Formula 1 race during the 2024 season.

The engines onboard P&O Cruises’ Britannia, under construction at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard near Trieste in Italy, were started up for the first time by Formula One racing TV presenter Suzi Perry. Also on hand were captain of the Britannia, Paul Brown and chief engineer, Sinclair Ross.

When working to full capacity, Britannia’s four engines will generate 62.4 Megawatts or 84,000 horsepower which is equivalent to the power generated by 168 supercars, allowing the 141,000gt ship to cruise at 22 knots.

Britannia’s maiden voyage from Southampton to the Mediterranean is on March 14, 2015.
